BigQuestion in association with How's business been this season?
Allan Ansdale Jnr, Adventure City (Los Angeles), USA: We had a record season in both attendance and revenue. Our newest coaster, Rewind Racers, played a big part in that. We will be at IAAPA again this November looking for the next ride or attraction that will keep them coming back for more.
Bjørn Håvard, Tusenfryd, Norway: After the launch of the new (Hafema) water ride Ragnarok in mid June, the park experienced a record breaking July in attendance. The general feedback from the visitors has been very positive, confirming a successful addition of a new high capacity family ride to the visitors. The historic Viking theme is also a big contribution to the general theme of this area of the park where rides like Thor's Hammer (P&P/ETF dark ride) and Supersplash (Mack water coaster) are already located.
Chris Thorpe, Darien Lake, USA: 2016 has been a fantastic year. Record heat and drought conditions made for a perfect summer to enjoy our waterpark and all-new RipCurl Racer waterslide, which received rave reviews all summer long. We also upgraded and expanded our lockers to offer a convenient, hassle-free keyless system to improve our guests’ experience.
Richard Smith, Flambards, UK: Overall Flambards has had an extremely positive year which has been significantly helped by a general upsurge in domestic tourism to the Cornwall region. We have also invested heavily over the past three years; both in refreshing our core attractions and in adding new features and activities to widen our appeal and also extend our traditional season. A clear, and highly targeted, marketing campaign has allowed us to reach key audiences and provide them with compelling new reasons to visit while also strengthening our reputation as a must-see Cornish family attraction.
Andrés Vanegas, Carruseles FEC, Colombia: Business this season has been relatively slow. Regardless of having good weather, which relates to more people attending our parks, our economy reflects the global economic recession as well. However, we are working on several new projects for 2017, especially one in our best location at Plaza de Las Americas Shopping Center in Bogotá. We will be doubling the size of this FEC and will be introducing a new concept in entertainment which we believe will set a new standard for family fun centres in Colombia.
