The Ilyas & Mustafa Galadari (IMG) Group has confirmed that IMG Worlds of Adventure – billed as the world’s largest indoor theme park – will open on August 18, two months ahead of the official opening of the Dubai Parks and Resorts development elsewhere in the Emirate. The 1.5-million-square-foot facility will feature more than 20 rides and experiences spread across four themed zones including Cartoon Network, Marvel, the Lost Kingdom dinosaur zone and IMG Boulevard.


The Sanderson Group has announced that its CEO Steve Sanderson and Peter Sanderson have been appointed to the board of directors of RSG MAPS as part of a restructure of the developer leading the creation of the upcoming MAPS Perak theme park opening later this year in Malyasia. Sanderson has also increased tits equity shareholding to 80%. Dedicated to the world of animation and featuring IPs from Animonsta Studios, International Merchandising Promotion and Services (Smurfs) and DreamWorks Animation, the park expects to entertain 1.4 million visitors in its first year of operation. Opening is now scheduled for December 2016.


Dubai Parks and Resorts (DP&R) has recently signed partnership agreements with leading tourism companies from China, India, the UK, Germany, West Africa and the GCC (Global Co-operative Counties), giving it a presence and raising awareness of its three theme parks in these key markets. Opening in October, DP&R is home to the Motiongate movie park, Bollywood Parks Dubai and Legoland Dubai, plus the Riverland Dubai retail, dining and entertainment complex, and themed Lapita Hotel. The family firm that runs Gulliver's Theme Parks in the UK has added a new executive director of legal services in the shape of Rebecca Phillips, the 36-year- old wife of director Nick Phillips. An experienced solicitor, Rebecca Nick when she worked as a seasonal ride operator at Gulliver's Kingdom in Matlock Bath during her summer break from university in 1999. The couple have two children, Beth (9) and Charlie (7). Gulliver's also runs parks in Warrington and Milton Keynes and is planning a fourth outlet at Rother Valley Country Park in South Yorkshire.


England’s Drayton Manor Park has launched a hunt to find eight new child directors for its board. Each “board member” will not only receive a season pass meaning they can visit the attraction as often as they like during 2016, but they’ll also be involved with making some important decisions on how to make their amusement park experience extra special. This might include what flavour ice cream to serve in catering outlets, what new 4D cinema

Picsolve has partnered with Madame Tussauds London to create two unique photo moments with its latest superstar figures, model Cara Delevingne and Kendall Jenner (whatever she does). Visitors first go backstage at an international fashion event where they can pose for a hidden mirror 'selfie' with Jenner, before walking down the catwalk amidst flashing paparazzi cameras to pose for a photo with Delevigne. “This installation is the perfect example of how Picsolve’s technology is transforming typically ‘out-of-reach’ experiences into a reality for our partners and our guests," says Picsolve business development director, Baz Slatter. Myron Klayman has been posthumously inducted into the New England Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Association (NEAAPA) Hall of Fame. The past NEAPPA president was manager of Paragon Park at Nantasket Beach, Hull, Massachusetts, which ceased operations in 1984. Klayman took personal interest in saving the park’s classic carousel, which still operates in town to this day and is known as the Paragon Carousel.
