RES (Ride Engineers Switzerland) A

s a long-time industry veteran, I launched Ride Engineers Switzerland in 2016 together with my partner Roman Rothe. Roman is a young, very talented and

passionate engineer who designed the Tourbillon ride. Together we have more than 50 years of ride engineering experience. Our vision is to establish a company known for smart engineering as well as for ride innovation and creativity. When we launched RES to the market last year at the IAAPA trade shows in Barcelona and Orlando, the feedback was just stupendous!

Key products/services We design, build and construct amusement rides for theme parks. One of our main competencies is water rides, an area where I have a lot of persomal experience. The focus here lies in the efficiency of the ride. How can the water flow be channelled so energy consumption is still reasonable but the effects for riders and spectators are still thrilling? What would be the most effective solution for the park, considering time, money and safety? We are also strong in the conception and manufacture of thrill rides, tower rides and track rides. We consider our key service to be providing a unique ride experience for our customers and their guests.

Customers/markets In my professional career, I have realised more than 300 projects in parks around the globe, among them some of the most sophisticated ones. I am especially grateful for customers like Family Park in Neusiedlersee, Austria, where I provided not only the rides but also some conceptual thinking behind the unique park scenery.

PARK WORLD Handbook & Buyers Guide 2017

Willy Walser, managing partner

Greatest strengths When we think about new rides, we keep a holistic view on the entire project. We combine innovation and creativity with safety and efficiency of operation, and stay on track until we have found the best solution for our customer. As well as experience, we also bring a lot of enthusiasm and passion to each project.

2017 and beyond Our brand new Air Loop patented interactive rollercoaster concept shows at its best our approach to innovation. On this unique ride, passengers can make turns by themselves and they travel through a layout combining left turns, right turns, uphill and downhill sections. This spring (2017) we will make the first test rides of our Roller Ball family coaster. The ride experience is unique with its swinging and freefall moment. It is a ride with endless possibilities for theming and creativity but has a modest space requirement, low energy consumption and very favourable price.
