COMMENT
increasingly, read a story on your phone or laptop, and think: “How did we get here?”
The industry at your fingertips E
ach month in Park World we bring you some of the latest news from the global theme park and attractions industry. Yet do you ever sit down and watch the television news or,
Sometimes a little background information is useful to put things into context. So whilst the current issue of the magazine contains all the usual stories and features you'd expect, in this special publication we've taken time to delve a little deeper into some of the new parks, attractions and projects opening in 2017 and beyond, providing the sort of comprehensive lists and analysis we might not always have room for in amongst our regular pagination.
Another function Park World performs is to bring readers closer to our advertisers, who play a large part in keeping the magazine in business (and for that we are most grateful). We've given 11 companies a platform in this publication to tell us a little more about what they do and what they've got coming up in the next 12 months. Some of them are already household names, others you may be learning about in detail for the first time after seeing them at the trade shows but never quite knowing what they do.
And because we don't discriminate against those who choose not to advertise, we've also rounded up many other manufacturers and suppliers towards the back of the book. We've done the same with industry events and trade associations.
Why not keep this inaugural Park World Handbook & Buyers
Guide on your desktop (either office or computer-based); you might never know when you'll need someone's product or services, or details of that upcoming new park or project. It's a lot easier than getting lost looking for the information on the internet. And if you're reading this is print, doesn't that ink smell great? (Sorry, I've spent too many late nights editing this thing).
My work is done, but for you I hope it will
provide a useful resource over the coming year. And if enough of you like it, we'll do it all again in 2018.
