ARISTOCRAT’s Álvaro Nores talks “The Great Game”

or this first and long-awaited interview with Alvaro Nores, Vice President of Aristocrat Technologies Latin America, met up, Ricki Chavez-Munoz, International Editor, during ICE 2016, in London, last February, where the booth of this global gaming leader was teeming with excited visitors experiencing “The Great Game.”
Aristocrat had announced the presentation of a
powerful and varied range of interconnected progressive jackpots as well as new stand-alone games for a number of international markets but what caught our attention was the bank of machines featuring Lightning Link™, the first interconnected jackpot for multiple denominations, where the player can select his own gaming strategy.
RCM: The system Lightning Link is, as you say,
the dream made reality for operators. What has been the reaction to this product at ICE?
ALVARO NORES: “Lightning Link made its EMEA
premiere at ICE, and the response from operators was very positive. Lightning Link is unique in the marketplace with player-selectable multi- denominations, a multi-format jackpot offering that combines both link and SAP jackpots, an excellent mix of games that attract a wide range of players, and a patented new jackpot mechanic for innovative game play and trigger methodology. Plus its intuitive layout is easy to learn and play. Lightning Link was created specifically to appeal to all types of players – frequent players and more casual gamers, and to those who like a jackpot experience as well as those who prefer a more entertaining experience. The product has been a hit with players in North America and Australia, and we expect it will be a hit in Latin America and across EMEA as well.”
RCM: We saw Lightning Link in Las Vegas last
year, when one of our clients fell in love at first sight with the system and acquired it immediately for his casino in Punta Cana. Have you achieved other installations in Latin America?
ALVARO NORES: “We have applied to have the game approved by regulators in all major jurisdictions in South America. We estimate we’ll be installing new banks very soon once we receive these approvals. Of course, here at ICE, this show is attended by very important customers of ours from across Latin America, and their reaction to the game has been incredibly positive.”
