-Gas has appointed Hans Craen as head of government aff airs Europe. In his new
group for BG50 - Water Treatment for Closed Heating & Cooling - the inspiration behind Guardian›s BG50i intelligent water monitoring and treatment package - and BG29 - Pre-commission Cleaning of Pipework, McGillivray recommended the support of Guardian’s MD, Steven Booth, when the latest version of BG50 was being revisited and updated. BG50 2021 recommends the remote monitoring approach championed by Guardian as a key tool in the fi ght against corrosion. McGillivray started his career in
the Royal Navy Marine Engineering environment, and on leaving service he worked his way through the building services industry; from
HVAC Commissioning Engineer to Commissioning Management and now an independent Consultant. He has supported many high-profi le customers across the BSE and FM space. Through his company, Hydrocomm, McGillivray provides water treatment and consultancy services specialising in validation and corrosion control of closed systems. A specialist in commissioning, McGillivray will be focussing on where the BG50i approach can support this activity.

Craen will represent A-Gas, the world leader in the supply and lifecycle management of refrigerants and associated products and services, in its relationship with trade associations and will work with decision-makers involved in the EU and at a national level in the UK. Craen is based in Brussels and has been employed in public aff airs for the past two decades. With his background of working with trade associations he has gained wide experience of understanding the impact that policy has on business development. He is a former EU Aff airs Coordinator for Hitachi and a senior vice-president for Kellen, a public aff airs consultancy company. Craen has a wealth of knowledge involving sustainability-related issues, the circular economy and regulatory alignment – core policy areas for A-Gas as it looks to become a net-zero company by 2035.
Kevin Harrison-Ellis joins Clivet C
livet has appointed Kevin Harrison-Ellis as head of sales, Clivet Group UK.
Harrison-Ellis has a diverse
background, from installing heat pumps and renewable technologies, to the role of branch manager
at a wholesaler, to regional and renewables management roles. Previously at Grant UK and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, amongst other well-known brands, he has a thorough knowledge of the entire heat pump and renewables market.
Harrison-Ellis said: “I always set myself high goals and targets, and I would like to see Clivet become a major player in the heat pump market in the UK by the start of 2024. Ambitious, of course, but achievable with the product lineup we have.”
