Thermofrost Cryo

Following last year’s launch of the R32 Sinclair Vision wall-mounted split system, Thermofrost Cryo has added Spectrum and Cassette models to its 2019 offering. The Spectrum is a stylish high wall system which, like the Vision range, features embedded Wifi as standard. The range will appeal to those looking for a more contemporary feel and is available in four models with 2.7, 3.5, 5.3 and 7kW capacities.

The Cassette system widens the appeal of the Sinclair range and provides access to the commercial market. Offering capacities of 3.5, 5.0, 7, 8.5 and 10kW, the whole range is available for single phase power.

Since its initial launch as a summer-only, special offer product, the Sinclair range has grown in popularity to become available year-round as part of the Thermofrost Cryo product portfolio. www.thermofrostcryo.co.uk

Mitsubishi Electric

Mitsubishi Electric is expanding its offering in the IT cooling market with its new s-MEXT high precision air conditioning systems.

The s-MEXT is a high-precision air conditioner that connects directly to Mitsubishi Electric’s DX Mr Slim Power Inverter outdoor units to create a full

inverter split system, designed according to the best quality standards and dedicated to the most reliable IT environments. It is also the firm’s first packaged Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) unit.

The s-MEXT is the first Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems (MEHITS) product to carry the three diamonds, taking advantage of more than 50 years of experience of the RC brand within the IT Cooling market, coupled with Mitsubishi Electric’s renowned quality standards.

Synapsys Solutions

Synapsys Solutions has announced that BACnet MSTP is now available within its SIP+ hardware as standard, continuing to push the boundaries of integration, communication and data exchange features from one device with the introduction of the new BACnet MSTP driver across all SIP+ product ranges.

BACnet MSTP is a BACnet protocol communicating via RS485 and Synapsys’ new MSTP driver enables the SIP+ to discover BACnet devices and object types within the constraints of the BACnet MSTP network. These object types and devices can then be linked through to the SIP+ Energy Monitoring and Targeting (EMT) functions for data visualisation. The data from these objects can also be exported to SIPinsight Billing/ EBIS or other third party systems for remote monitoring, billing and analysis.

SIP+ EMT-IF also enables these BACnet MSTP object types to be interfaced to a BACnetIP, Trend BMS or via Synapsys’ new MQTT driver to third party MQTT brokers for IoT compatibility.

Sean Samuel, product support manager for Synapsys Solutions, said: “The introduction of our MSTP driver to the SIP+ hardware adds another significant feature to the ever-increasing capabilities of our SIP+ range of products.”

Richard Venga, senior product manager at Mitsubishi Electric, explains: “By using our Mr Slim Power Inverter system, our installers are already familiar with not only the system but with the installation process. Therefore, the s-MEXT can be installed quickly and efficiently, without the need to go through time-intensive training.

“It also means that the Mitsubishi Electric quality is assured as we roll out our first three-diamonds-certified IT cooling product. We are excited to be offering the market a product that is familiar, flexible and reliable.”

The units are available in capacities from 6kW up to 42kW and are ideal for applications where high sensible cooling and close control of temperature and humidity are required, such as small and medium-sized businesses (enterprise data centres) with on- premises IT cooling requirements. They are also available in both Upflow and Downflow variants.

Mr Venga adds: “The s-MEXT is available as a packaged solution, meaning both the shipping and installation times are also reduced, unlike many of the traditional IT Cooling systems where lead times can be a lot longer.”

The units offer high levels of efficiency, incorporating full Mitsubishi Electric inverter technology and EC plug fans. Occupying a small physical footprint and with pipe runs up to 100 metres, this makes the s-MEXT a flexible solution for all IT Cooling needs. The s-MEXT comes complete with Mitsubishi Electric’s standard three-year warranty.
