ABB

To meet the increasing data demands of digital applications, ABB has launched new central processing units (CPUs) for its AC500 PLC range which offer enhanced connectivity, performance and speed suitable for industrial, buildings

or substation uses. Users of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) who are looking to extend connection capabilities to secure their cloud-enabled applications can benefit from the increased security of ABB’s new AC500 V3. The PLC gives end-users, machine builders and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) the freedom to add features to their products or extend applications with cloud connectivity. This allows them to capitalise on opportunities to communicate with other devices through the Internet of Things (IoT). It achieves this by offering four different Ethernet protocols that provide data connectivity, cloud connectivity, substation communication or intelligent building automation, offering users an easy to integrate and open platform. www.abb.com

Advanced Engineering

Advanced Engineering’s new HydroSprayer-Elite has been launched as an electric alternative to the popular HydroSprayer. Designed for use with Advanced Engineering’s concentrated and ready- mixed coil cleaner chemicals, the HydroSprayer- Elite can be used indoors or out.The 12-volt electric sprayer features a fully-rechargeable battery, 15 litres of capacity, and supportive backstraps for effortless, go-anywhere cleaning.

From time-to-time, cleaning can be a messy business and nowhere is this truer than when cleaning air conditioning units indoors. Ideal for routine maintenance, HookTite helps protect walls, carpets and nearby equipment against accidental splashes during cleaning. Advanced Engineering technical director Colin Pratt says: “Traditionally, a conscientious engineer would lay dust sheets and tarpaulins out to offer protection; this can be ineffective, time- consuming and disruptive. HookTite offers an easier way... because it actually catches the splashes, rather than simply protecting surfaces. It’s been specifically designed for use on cassette units and features access holes to prevent spills, and a drain tube that directs any run-off for easy collection and disposal. Best of all, it saves customers time and money.” www.advancedengineering.co.uk

Armstrong Fluid Technology has announced the release of its new Integrated Pumping System IPS 4000, an automation solution for commercial

HVAC pumping stations of up to eight pumps and 16 zones. The new IPS 4000 automates and optimises multi-pump installations in a range of different plant configurations. Providing sequences for variable primary, secondary or tertiary pumping system applications, it delivers significant energy savings, using Armstrong’s patented Parallel SensorlessTM Pump Control technology. Pre-configured to leverage the capabilities of Design Envelope (the technology embedded in Armstrong pumps) the new IPS 4000 offers fast and simple set-up for the most cost- effective and efficient pump control results. Designed for control of multiple pumps in both heating and cooling HVAC applications, it is capable of maximising the performance profiles of up to eight variable speed pumps and up to 12 zones, and is suitable for both new installations and retrofit. The IPS 4000 integrates with building management systems but can also provide highly effective standalone pump control where a BMS is not deployed. As the IPS 4000 is a pre-engineered, catalogue-based solution, customers can avoid both the programming work and the related costs associated with bespoke control options. The IPS 4000 is part of a comprehensive portfolio of HVAC solutions from Armstrong Fluid Technology and is available now for specification and selection.
