ieldpiece Instruments has opened a UK office in Northampton as part of its international development strategy, building on its European operations and providing sales and customer service in the UK. A leading US-based brand, Fieldpiece focuses solely on creating tools for HVACR professionals and is now expanding into the European market.
All products are designed to enhance the ability of engineers to do their jobs easier, faster, and with more precision. To ensure durability, each product goes through rigorous field testing before being sold into the market.
“Along with our warehouse in the Netherlands, moving into this new office in England allows us to better serve our customers in Europe,” said Russell Harju, president of European operations. “We are excited that Michael Harris, an experienced HVACR professional, is heading up the office as general manager of the European team.”
Mr Harris has a background in mechanical engineering and is a member of the Institute of Refrigeration. For over 27 years, he has led sales and managed business development worldwide in all sectors of the acr industry.
Mr Harris joined Fieldpiece Instruments in September 2017 to take on the task of establishing the European entity, and in particular developing the firm’s UK presence.
He said: “We’re opening our doors in England because of the considerable potential the UK region has to offer. We look forward to Fieldpiece being part of the growing HVACR community here.”
Lu-Ve finalises Alfa Laval aquisition L
u-Ve has completed its aquisition of the air heat exchanger division of Alfa Laval, AL Air. A leading manufacturer of commercial and industrial coolers, primarily for the industrial cooling and industrial refrigeration markets, AL Air had sales of €108.1m in 2018. The aquisition of the business, which is headquartered in Alonte, Vicenza, includes the premises in Italy, Finland and India, with a
commercial organisation throughout the world, and recognised brand names such as Fincoil and Helpman.
The acquisition also includes also the transfer of more than 400 employees, mainly based at the production sites.
Lu-Ve president Iginio Liberali said: “This acquisition is the largest ever concluded by Lu-Ve Group. Thanks to it, the Group is now amongst the
three largest global operators in the sector and the second in Europe.
“The acquisition is part of our strategic design of growth and qualification. This acquisition also has the sense of maintaining in Italy the research and manufacturing of the most advanced products, in terms of the application of ‘green’ refrigerants, energy savings and respect for the environment.”
