NEWS IN BRIEF
Sandhaven Harbour Welcomes the Sea Cadets
Sandhaven & Pitullie Harbour Trust are delighted to announce that a long term lease has been signed with Fraserburgh Sea Cadets. The piece of land adjacent to Sandhaven Harbour slipway is for the new TS Gowanlea Headquarters and Training Centre. Plans have been submitted to Aberdeenshire council
for approval and it is expected that the new state of the art premises will be completed in under two years. Plans can be viewed at
www.sandhavenharbour.co.uk/index.php/news/sea- cadets-new-build-update The Trust has also been awarded a £15,000 grant from
The Crown Estate. This generous award is for the purchase of floats for walkways that have been stored at the harbour for a few years. Once assembled, the pontoons will be more secure and require less maintenance. In addition, this will provide more berths and
extra income for the Trust. As a result of these exciting opportunities, the Trust hope to attract more harbour users and welcome more people into the community and surrounding areas.
