A NEW MIGRANT TO SEYCHELLES
has visions of palm trees, white sandy beaches, warm azure waters, in short, an idyllic tropical paradise. Indeed this is where a 36m floating pontoon from Inland & Coastal has migrated and has made the Marine Charter Association’s waterfront its home. It was during METS 2015 in
W
Amsterdam, that the first contact was made by a local businessman from the Seychelles looking for a small heavy duty pontoon for his yacht repair facility, Cascade Slipway Services. Of all the International marina systems at METS, Inland & Coastal’s heavy

duty galvanized frames and well finished fibre cement decking was seen as the best choice for a heavy commercial environment as well as the harsh tropical conditions.
Cascade Slipway Services was
appointed as the distributor for Inland & Coastal’s systems for the Seychelles and wasted no time in obtaining a first order from the Seychelles Marine Charter Association. 3 x 12m x 2m wide walkways and 3 x 4m gangways were delivered to Seychelles in September 2016 and were immediately assembled and installed by a local contractor under the guidance of Cascade Slipway Services. The Marine Charter Association where Inland and Coastal’s
marina system has made its home, is located in the centre of the yacht basin of Port Victoria, the one and only International Port in Seychelles. From these new pontoons, many thousands of European and International visitors to Seychelles and locals alike every year, board vessels for big game fishing trips, lazy day trips on glass bottom boats and beach barbecues to the nearby Marine Park, sunset cruises and party cruises. Residents of nearby islands using their private boats to commute also use the new pontoons as a stopping off point. Despite Seychelles being a small market, Inland & Coastal looks forward to expanding its market in the islands.
