Qualification Title: Level 4 Certificate in Providing Specialist Legal Advice Level 4 Diploma in Providing Specialist Legal Advice and Casework


About the qualification:


These are competence-based qualification and meet the requirements under the Qualification and Credit framework (QCF). The Level 4 Certificate in Providing Specialist Legal Advice is worth minimum of 20 Credits and the Level 4 Diploma in Providing Specialist Legal Advice and Casework and is worth a minimum of 38 Credits.


To achieve these qualifications learners will be assessed, by an Assessor, to ensure they have the necessary competences, knowledge and work–related skills to meet the relevant occupational standards. Learners must provide a range of evidence to demonstrate how they meet the Learning Outcomes and Assessment Criteria for each unit. Learners can do this by building a portfolio of evidence of the work they have done, i.e. work related products, personal statements, questioning and observational assessments.


There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification but candidates must be working in a role relevant to the qualification.


Who are these qualifications for?


These qualifications are suitable for specialist advisers working in the legal advice field who are experienced practitioners in the advice sector and have specialist knowledge of at least one area of legal advice (e.g. welfare rights, money and debt, housing, health and community care, disability, family, mental health or discrimination law). They are suitable for those who may also be involved in the preparation and presentation of cases for court.
