Qualification Title: Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Legal Advice Provision About the qualification:


These are competence-based qualifications and meet the requirements under the Qualification and Credit framework (QCF). The Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Legal Advice Provision is worth a minimum of 17 Credits.


To achieve these qualifications learners will be assessed, by an Assessor, to ensure they have the necessary competences, knowledge and work–related skills to meet the relevant occupational standards. Learners must provide a range of evidence to demonstrate how they meet the Learning Outcomes and Assessment Criteria for each unit. Learners can do this by building a portfolio of evidence of the work they have done, i.e. work related products, personal statements, questioning and observational assessments.


There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification but candidates must be working in a role relevant to the qualification.


Who are these qualifications for?


This qualification is for those who are likely to be the first point of contact for clients within a legal / business / advice environment. It is designed for those whose role involves meeting and greeting clients, ascertaining their needs and determining the best course of action, such as information, signposting or referral. It is appropriate for those working in the legal advice field, for example, independent advice offices, in local authorities, solicitor offices, police front offices or trade unions.

Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Legal Advice Provision (17 Credits)

PLUS a further 3 credits must be achieve by completing at least 1 unit from Optional Units.


Credits Requirements


A minimum of 17 credits must be achieved.


14 credits must be achieved by completing all mandatory units.


Mandatory Units Mandatory units include:


• Communicating with legal advice clients


• Supporting clients to make use of advice and guidance services


• Enabling legal advice clients to access signposting and referral opportunities


• Evaluating own practice in the legal context
