Possible signs and symptoms: • Body mass index (BMI) > 25 (overweight in adults) • BMI > 30 (obesity in adults) • BMI >95th percentile for age and sex (children and adolescents)
• Weight for height more than normative standard for age and sex (children and adolescents)
• Increased skinfold thickness • Increased body adiposity • Overconsumption of energy-dense food and beverages • Large portions (more than twice the recommended portion size)
