CFC Ordains Tim Knelsen It was a joy to celebrate the ordination of Pastor Tim Knelsen on Sunday, Nov 20.

Former youth pastor Sean Brandow brought a message from the life of Samson to con- trast the God-given potential Samson wasted with the potential God has instilled in each believer which needs to be maximized. It was a great time of celebration for our congregation, many who have influenced

Tim’s ministry and many who have been influenced by him. Pastor Tim and his wife, Heather (photo on right), both graduated from Millar College of the Bible. Tey have three children, Braden, Cole, and Kinsley. Tim and Heather have been serving in ministry to the youth and young adults at Rhineland for just over five years.

need to hear the Gospel! In the evening Dan and Judy Burke, serving in Bolivia, gave us an idea of their mission field. Dan spoke of how God will use you in ways you never thought possible, and he feels God uses him because he is willing, though not especially skilled in mission work. God uses people who are willing and available. Te final Sunday Orin Kidd, a mission-

ary in Papua New Guinea, reminded us that the Great Commission is not limited to cross-cultural places; it’s not just for the remotest parts of the world; and it applies to each one of us. We are all to take the Gospel to the whole world, beginning right where we live. He challenged us to be open to whatever God has in mind for us. In the evening Tim Brooks, a plane mechanic with MAF, told us about his year of train- ing and how he is leaning the language and adjusting to the culture of Indonesia.

Jansen Bible Church Jansen, Nebraska Pastor Paul Carpenter Blaine Donaldson served us in the

Word on Oct. 23. Jeff Porter, New Tribes IT missionary at Florida headquarters, ministered on Oct. 30. Our Harvest Missions Festival, Nov. 11-

13, focused on reaching youth. Presenters were Paul and Janet Harkness, Awana®; Kelly Hoeting, YFC; Garrett Schlake, Navigators (Garrett is transferring to the University of Tours, France in January); and Ron and Judy Spaulding, International Students In- corporated at UN Lincoln. Te Spauldings brought several foreign students who told of their new-found faith in Christ. Te Hitch Family presented a concert

Richer Fellowship Richer, Manitoba Ben Funk, Pastor In September we introduced a course

entitled “Concerned Persons Group.” Tis is for people whose family members or friends are addicted to an amphetamine. Te course was effective in empowering the participants to be a person of worth and significant importance to God. It was wonderful to observe God opening their eyes to see they actually matter, and they do not need to yield to the power of guilt from the addicted one. Te course will be offered again in January 2017. Richer Fellowship Church has

experienced a significant make-over in 2016. New paint plus new flooring has made the church more inviting. A new elevated sound booth helps our sound technicians have a better view of the stage. New worship soſtware makes programing and presentations easier. A video monitor in the back of the sanctuary benefits the speakers and musicians. God is continuing to bless our con-

gregation. Following a recent Sunday morning service a person accepted Jesus as personal Saviour. Tis breaths significant spiritual excitement. In December we hired a company to produce an appropri- ate design for a postcard that will invite persons to our Fellowship. Our first step is a mass mailing campaign for 1000 homes

in the community of Richer and areas sur- rounding it. Our signage will also become more reflective of our promotion. We are full of anticipation in what God will do in stimulating persons hearts to come and fellowship together with us. Impacting our community for Christ is our motive – falling in line with FEBC mission. Provided by Church Staff

Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Marion, South Dakota Randell J. Maass, Pastor Our Annual Harvest Mission Festival

was held on Nov. 6 with Kenton Becker, a church planter in France with Tentmak- ers Mission. Our church was part of a communi-

ty-wide Advent service on Nov. 27. Four area pastors presented meditations. Te local ministerial prepares bas-

kets each year with all the food needed for a Tanksgiving meal for a family of six, including a turkey. Each basket goes to a needy family in the area. Now the ministerial is collecting food donations for Christmas boxes, which will include a ham, corn, green beans, stuffing, yams, instant potatoes, gravy packets, corn bread and brownie/cake mixes. Tis is a hands- on project by the area churches working together to show the love of Christ. Have you checked our weekly sermons

and news on the church website? Please follow us on www.embcountrychurch.com. Evelyn Duerksen, Correspondent
