a paradigm for change, spring-boarding from Paul’s cry towards the close of Ro- mans 7. Tis weekend was a good remind- er of our need of change — and of God’s provision to meet that need. Baptisms: Two in November New Members: One in October Provided by Vita Bible Church Staff

Stuartburn Gospel Chapel Stuartburn, Manitoba Mark Funk, Pastor We are focused on two special projects.

Some of our church members volunteer at Fisher Bay Bible Camp have had it on their hearts to find a way to offer a more consis- tent and regular ministry to the youth who are served by the camp (most of whom live nearby). On the last weekend of the month, they provide a retreat for alumni campers. Tey travel to the camp on Saturday stay overnight, and return home Sunday aſter- noon. Te youth have been responding well with 40-50 teens currently attending. No funding currently budgeted for this

ministry, but the volunteers have provid- ed everything necessary to bring these children a time of caring and fellowship. Other churches are also supplying food and support in a variety of ways. God is blessing the church as well as the youth in the Fisher Bay area as we work together to advance the Gospel and bring his love and

mercy to the indigenous youth who oſten feel forgotten and abandoned. Our second priority was to support

our pastor and the other members of the team that ministered in Myanmar (Nov. 15–Dec. 5), teaching students and church leaders. Several of our members committed to a regular daily time of prayer for the team, and we were able to develop a schedule of “prayer war- riors” so that each day of the three-week mission was covered by someone who would intentionally set aside a specific time dedicated to pray for the team, for those who would be ministered to, and for each other that we would be faithful to our commitment.

Northeast Bible Church Calgary, Alberta John Fehr, Pastor “Five Questions that will Determine

Your Destiny” was the thought-provoking sermon series that Pastor John Fehr led us through in November and December. Te series explored: 1. Mary’s question — “Will I accept God’s destiny for my life?”

2. Joseph’s question — “Will I obey when things don’t make sense?”

3. Te Shepherds’ question — “Will I recognize who Jesus is?”

4. Te Wise Men’s question — “What will I bring?”

5. Te Innkeeper’s question — “Will I make room for Jesus?” Julie Ann Simpson, Correspondent

Evangelical Bible Church Dallas, Oregon Jerry Franz, Pastor Te theme for the Missions Confer-

ence in November was “Have Tey Not Yet Heard?” Te first Sunday Dr. Brent Strasburg, pastor and apologetics expert, emphasized that we are surrounded by people who don’t talk like us or think like us, yet we are not giving them reasons for our faith. Dr. Strawsburg gave us tips on how to connect with the skeptic. In the evening service Tim and Sondra Arm- strong described their work in Tailand. Tey and their children gave a very poi- gnant demonstration about the many peo- ple who do not have God’s Word available in their own language. It was astonishing to learn the details required and the time it takes to translate God’s Word. Te second Sunday we heard from Dr.

Leroy Goertzen, professor at Corban Uni- versity. He reminded us that there is only one Great Commission. He said that if we require evidence that the Gospel is still needed, just look around, watch the news, or go online. It is very clear that many still

Dallas EBC Ordains Nathan Ensz A highlight for Evangelical Bible Church (EBC) last year was the ordination ceremony for Pastor Nathan Ensz. Pastor Nathan and his wife Kelsey (photo on leſt) have been ministering to our EBC youth for the past 17 years. Te Rev. Jeff Friesen, FEBC Chairman of Commission on Churches, came to con-

duct this special service. Pastor Jeff spoke to the congregation in the morning services, challenging each one of us to support Pastor Nathan, and asking us to consider how we should respond to those in ministry and leadership. In the aſternoon ceremony, Pastor Jeff gave a call to Nathan and Kelsey. He explained

the process of the ordination examination Nathan through, an evaluation of his Bible knowledge and moral character. Now the Ordination Council and congregation joyfully and formally give their stamp of approval to the ministry that God has called them to do. Several pastors and deacons joined in laying hands on Pastor Nathan and Kelsey,

setting them aside for ministry. It was a moving ceremony, one of which many of us have never before witnessed. Tis church is very proud of Pastor Nathan and Kelsey. Tey were honored with a reception following the ceremony.
