HROUGH 2016, WE SAW SIMILAR THEMES appear at ACTE education events around the world. ACTE


research identified a shift in emphasis by some companies in their approaches to reducing cost. Many are revisiting and


rewriting travel policies to focus on traveller engagement to increase compliance, and communication remains key. Progressive corporations such as Unilever encourage their business travel community to share views and experiences through their corporate social media platform. Travellers post questions, queries and observations that over 50,000 of their experienced road warriors can answer and review, driving increasingly compliant behaviour. Also to boost compliance, some corporations have developed animated videos to explain the

policy and why it exists. ITV has used celebrities, and other companies have used their CEO to front their online and intranet messaging campaigns to explain how to make the right decision to support company goals. Alternative payment solutions is another hot topic as industry professionals evaluate new channels to increase data availability and compliance. The ‘sharing economy’


also remains topical, and as technology morphs apace, virtual reality and chatbots will very soon be commonplace in the industry, providing new service-solutions and ways to meet, do business and cut cost.


In addition to new 2016 education events in Istanbul and Warsaw, ACTE will introduce more education and networking opportunities throughout 2017, including our inaugural Geneva


forum in partnership with Swiss Travel Management. CHRIS WOODROOFE Gatwick airport has appointed Chris Woodroofe as chief operating officer. Woodroofe has been with Gatwick for over ten years as head of engineering, head of security and business continuity, and most recently as head of passenger operations.

ROXANA BRESSY Roxana Bressy has been named KDS’s new chief executive officer after five years with the company as executive vice-president of business operations. Previous to this, she held senior positions at Nobel Biocare, Mercury Interactive and Hitachi.


ADIEL MAMBARA Royal Brunei Airlines has announced Adiel Mambara as its new UK country manager. Mambara assumes this role after ten years with the airline as UK sales and marketing manager. Before that, he was assistant business manager at Business Travel Management.


CAROLINE PAROT Caroline Parot has been appointed by Europcar Group as CEO. She has been with Europcar since 2011, most recently as deputy CEO, and as chief financial officer before that. Previous to joining Europcar, she held the role of group controller for Technicolor Group.
