AGEM INDEX
After reporting two consecutive month-to-month declines, the AGEM Index rose in October 2015. The composite index ended the month at 197.21, which represents a substantial gain of 13.87 points (+7.6 per cent) compared to September 2015. Compared to a year ago, the AGEM Index netted 10.22 points to the positive (+5.5 per cent). In October, eight of the 13 global gaming equipment manufacturers reported month-to-month gains in stock price, with three up by more than 10 per cent. Of the four manufacturers reporting monthly declines in stock price during the month, two were down by more than 10 per cent.
The broader stock markets also reported improvements from September 2015 to October 2015. The S&P 500 increased from 1,920.03 to 2,079.36, which represented a gain of 8.3 percent. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended the month at 17,663.54, rising 8.5 percent from the prior period.
AGEM is an international trade association representing manufacturers of electronic gaming devices, systems, and components for the gaming industry. The Association works to further the interests of gaming equipment manufacturers throughout the world. Through political action, tradeshow partnerships, information dissemination and good corporate citizenship, the members of AGEM work together to create benefits for every company within the organization. Together, AGEM and its member organisations have assisted regulatory commissions and participated in the legislative process to solve problems and create a positive business environment.

MEMBERS NEWS AGEM KEY BOARD OF DIRECTORS ACTIONS:
l In line with AGEM’s pledge to support educational initiatives, the members recently agreed to extend the annual Scholarship program with Drexel University into a 3- year commitment. AGEM has supported Drexel’s hospitality management / gaming program with an annual $10,000 sponsorship. The Drexel team has been committed to promoting gaming education at the school and through the gaming lab that has been established with help from the suppliers.
l Another educational scholarship was renewed at the November meeting, this time for the American Indian College Fund. The organisation has undertaken good work and AGEM members were happy to extend their support for a further year with a donation of $10,000.
l Director of Responsible Gaming, Connie Jones, represented AGEM at the joint conference of the International Association of Gaming Regulators and International Masters of Gaming Law in Lima, Peru from the 13-16 October. The event was well attended by approx. 235 delegates made up of international regulators and attorneys and provided a good opportunity for AGEM to showcase its commitment to Responsible Gaming during the session on new developments in ‘Duty of Care’.
l Two events were recently approved for sponsorship, the 11th European Conference on Gambling Studies and Policy Issues and the annual National Council of Legislators from Gaming States (NCLGS). The European conference will be held in Lisbon, Portugal from 13-16 September 2016 and was supported by a 3000 Euro donation. AGEM will be sponsoring the NCLGS and has pledged a $2000 sponsorship with Vice President of Government Relations, Steve DiMasi representing AGEM and participating on a panel discussion that will focus on skill- based gaming. The NCLGS will be held from 8-10 January 2016 in Orlando, Florida.
l AGEM welcomed 3 new members to the roster in November. Bronze member, Century Gaming Technologies and Associate members, CDC Gaming Reports and Casino Connection Int’l..
EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES
l AGEM will once again have a stand at the ICE Totally Gaming Show in London. The stand is located in the North Halls at N1-356. Preparations are underway for the show and AGEM looks forward to meeting all it’s members at this time.
