Radici acquires Invista PA66 unit
Radici Group Performance Plastics is to buy Invista’s Engineering Polymer Solutions business in a move designed to strengthen its position in the performance PA markets in North America and Europe. The deal is expected to close within two months. The acquisition will give
Radici Group Performance Plastics a significant increase in PA66 capacity in both the US and Europe – Invista has two PA66 production plants at Chat- tanooga in Tennesse in the US and Born in the Netherlands. Radici said it expects to
consolidate assets in Chatta- nooga with its existing North American facilities and will combine competencies, know-how and technologies. As a result of the move, OEM
approvals for its existing Radilon and the acquired Torzen PA66 brands will be valid and usable worldwide in industries such as automotive, electrical/electronics, industrial and consumer goods, it said. RadiciGroup Performance
Plastics has facilities in Italy, Germany, the US, Mexico, Brazil, China and India. The company achieved sales of €277m for 2015, up by 12% up on 2014, and reported sales for the first half of 2016 up by 3%. It said this growth was driven by the automotive sector, notably in the US, China and Germany; automotive accounts for about 60% of RadiciGroup Performance Plastics’ sales revenue. ❙

Ravago buys two US compounding firms
Belgium’s Ravago Group has made two further acquisitions in the US, buying recycler and toll compounder Industrial Resin Recycling( based at Howell in Michigan) and PP compound producer Interna- tional Polymers (located at Allentown in Pennsylvania). No terms were disclosed in either deal, both of which were carried out through the Ravago Holdings America business. Ravago already owned Entec

tors in the US. Earlier this year, it acquired T H Hilson, a Mid-Western US distributor of speciality chemicals, and Spanish distributor Campi y Jove. Worldwide, Ravago employs about 5,200 people at 19 recycling and compounding sites in North America, Europe and Turkey. The group has some 500,000 tonnes/year of capacity and 11 production plants in Belgium, Greece, Turkey and Russia. ❙
