FEATURE SURFACE DESIGN SHOW 2017

Tile of Spain- Stand 302

Tile of Spain, the voice of the Spanish tile industry, has brought together a selection of exemplary designs to showcase during its debut at the Surface Design Show.

On display will be both ceramic and porcelain tiles in a range of looks. These include the trend for artisanal contemporary rugs, as seen in Aparici’s fascinating ‘Carpet’ porcelain flooring, and the trend for dramatic monochromes in the form of ‘Concept’ tiles from Cerámica Cas.

The eye-catching patterns of Goroka Grafito porcelain by Vives demonstrate how tiles can add a distinctive, easy- care panache to a variety of spaces, whether residential or commercial, whilst hexagons in on-trend pastels by Peronda are offered in both porcelain and cement versions depending on the need of the project.

Furthermore, Colorker and Dune will display some dazzling sculptural tiles that prove how flexible and creative porcelain and ceramic can be, especially when used for multi-faceted surfaces.

Manufactured in Spain and widely available in the UK, these products embody the spirit of an industry that prides itself on proposing beautiful, meaningful and high-performance solutions to flooring, wall coverings, furnishing and external cladding.

BAL, expert in full tiling solutions, is returning to Stand 616 at the Surface Design Show to demonstrate its new technology and present informative RIBA-approved CPDs for fail-safe external tiling installations.

Connecting the inside with the outdoors is the latest trend in design, with an increased need for balconies, roof terraces and ground floor terraces and patios to be incorporated in blueprints for commercial and domestic projects.

To have these areas available all year round requires coverings that are durable, hardwearing and suitable for all weather – and tiles are the perfect answer, provided that assemblies are properly constructed.

Introduced to the market this year, BAL’s new range of external tiling systems, in conjunction with sister company Gutjahr, protects outdoor covering from the unpredictable British weather.

BAL’s patented system, including drainage matting, edge profiles, drain grates and guttering, is simple to install and provides rapid, immediate and high volume drainage. Water is drained down through the screed and rapidly expelled from the assembly, meaning no water staining, no freeze/thaw threat or efflorescence.
