COVER STORY BRINTONS Different by Design
Creating a home that looks good is important, but home is also about how it makes you feel: about relaxing; welcoming family and friends; being cosy and comfortable. A luxurious, wool-rich
Brintons carpet is the perfect starting point. We take a look at the Kidderminster firm to find out more…
Brintons has been at the heart of carpet manufacturing for over 230 years and its high- end woven carpets have become the standard for impressive commercial and residential interiors throughout the world. This proud British company has been based in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, since 1783 and today employs 1,800 people worldwide who all contribute to the creation of these beautiful products.
exceptionally hardwearing in high-traffic areas without compromising on luxury. Lovingly created, the colour palette is inspired by the world around us and is regularly updated to reflect changing trends. Brintons’ newest Bell Twist colours (launching February 2017) capture the serene beauty of nature’s neutral palette by using pale tints, such as Cotton, right across to a striking shade of Slate. These organic tones were chosen specifically to complement contemporary lighting, as this has changed how we see colour in our homes. Halogen and low-energy lighting creates a fresher, crisper style which is less sympathetic to more traditional hues. Grey carpets look fantastic in these modern settings as either an accent colour or backdrop.
Available in over 60 colours, from modern pastels to dark dramatic shades, the Bell Twist range is perfect for creating a stylish and cohesive look throughout the home. Flooring co-ordination is really simple too - many of the colours featured in the plain carpet ranges are also used in the patterns too, meaning that it’s easy to create a perfect flow from one room to the next.
The Brintons design team travels the globe, exploring the cutting edge of fashion and interiors, and delving into the rich traditions of cultures worldwide to pinpoint the trends that will bring a liveable, covetable look to homes. Collaborations with iconic interior design brands, such as Laura Ashley and Timorous Beasties, have resulted in stunning collections with timeless elegance and outstanding beauty, all entirely exclusive to Brintons –known for its skill and expertise.
Brintons offers a wide selection of plain and patterned collections, including tartans, stripes, velvets, striking geometrics and timeless florals. Whether your customers adore the look of antique styles or prefer sleek contemporary designs, there will definitely be something to suit their taste.

All Brintons’ stocked carpets are created using the famous ‘Brintons Blend’ mixing 80% wool with 20% nylon. This blend continues to be used today because it combines the luxury of wool with the strength and durability of nylon. Wool provides luxury underfoot and helps to insulate your home for warmth and comfort. It absorbs sound to give a sense of calm and tranquillity plus is naturally fire resistant and fall-friendly for little ones – a great selling feature!
Brintons’ mission is to inspire homeowners to think about their floors before their walls. If you visit the website, you can see the full stocked product range, get interiors inspiration and advice, plus ‘view in a room’ to show what a larger piece of carpet looks like on the floor. End-users can also request swatches of carpets to be delivered to their door in order to get a better idea of what they will look like in their home.
