Well, that’s it. The nights are drawing in, the heating is getting tested and the jumpers are on. I think it’s safe to say that Autumn has arrived. No doubt it won’t be that long before the shops start filling up with discount chocolates and tacky decorations as talk of the dreaded ‘c-word’ (no, not that one) creeps in.

It does mean that it’s time for the October issue of Tomorrow’s Cleaning though, and this month we take a special look at Training and Education as we have not one, but two fascinating interviews that I’m sure you’ll find very interesting.

First up, Dianna Steinbach, Director of EMEA Services at ISSA talks to us about the integral role training plays within the industry and how the international association is helping companies around the world understand the ‘true value’ of cleaning.

Alongside this, we spoke to Nigel Adams, Training Manager at Kärcher UK, about the purpose-built new Training Academy at their brand new headquarters in Banbury. Having just moved into this new facility, Nigel was very keen to talk to us about it and he explained the emphasis that the company places on training and education.

Sticking with this theme, we also have a fascinating piece from Facilicom, as they told us about a rather unusual method of assessing their employees’ management style, involving training horses. It makes for really interesting reading, so be sure to check it out.

Elsewhere, for the first time ever, we’ve included the latest edition of our sister publication – Tomorrow’s Cleaning Ireland – inside this month’s issue as a special pull-out supplement. Check it out for all the latest news and updates from the Irish cleaning sector.

I hope you enjoy this month’s issue – thanks very much and happy reading! EDITOR’S VOICE
