Tork Aim To Drive Up Kitchen Hygiene Standards
Tork aims to revolutionise the way chefs and catering teams use kitchen cleaning cloths, to help ensure exemplary hygiene standards. The business has launched durable, reusable and disposable cleaning cloths which are heat resistant up to 250˚C and up to 75% more absorbent compared to equivalent competitor products.
The thick cotton based cloths are made from 100% natural fibres, are biodegradable, have high wet strength and perform in much the same way as a chef or catering teams’ traditional tea towel. Fully compliant with HACCP guidelines, the cloths are food contact approved for wiping and are also disposable to ensure hygiene
Kaivac Launches New Microsite For New Product Line
Kaivac, developers of the No-Touch Cleaning and the OmniFlex Crossover Cleaning systems, has just launched a new site –
www.kaivacav.com – specifically for an all-new version of its large area hard surface floor cleaning system.
The AutoVac is designed to be as effective as a traditional auto scrubber but costs as much as 90% less. Available in corded and Lithium- ion battery-powered models, the corded machine can clean 16,000 square feet per hour and the battery- powered system more than 20,000 square feet per hour.
These machines are also exceptionally effective. According to tests at University of Massachusetts

at Lowell, the AutoVac systems achieved 99% soil removal, topping the performance of a traditional auto scrubber and thirty times more superior than a new microfiber mop.
“Now with the new cordless capability, we believe this floor scrubber is such a step ahead of anything currently on the market that we thought it deserved its own website,” said Tom Morrison, Vice President of Marketing for Kaivac. “[The AutoVac microsite] is a reflection of how strongly we believe in this new technology.”
The AutoVac system releases fresh cleaning solution directly to the floor via a spigot at the bottom of the unit. “From here, users just press go and start walking. A microfibre pad at the base of the machine evenly spreads the cleaning solution and provides the necessary agitation to loosen and remove soils, which are collected, along with moisture, by a squeegee blade. From here, they are vacuumed up by the AutoVac, fast and simple.”
Other benefits of the AutoVac, according to Morrison, are that it

levels are maintained in kitchen and catering environments.
Available in packs of 85, the cloths can be used individually or within a dispenser. The unfolded length is 42.8cm, with an unfolded width of 38.5cm. The folded length is 10.8cm with a folded width of 38.5cm.
Rachel Thompson, Product and Segment Manager, SCA Hygiene Products UK Ltd said: “As a business, we’re always in search of innovative solutions which will help operators and catering teams deliver impeccable hygiene standards for their customers in order to keep them safe. The launch of our multi-purpose cloths will see an end to the grubby kitchen cloth, traditionally seen hanging from a chef or catering teams’ apron.
“What we have designed and manufactured is a safe, disposable solution which can be used to handle hot pans, plates and to wipe down surfaces to eliminate any concerns around cross contamination.”
