CLEANING SHOW PREVIEW

IT’S THE CLEANING EVENT OF THE YEAR,

AND YOU’RE ALL INVITED

Regular TC Columnist and Media Manager for the British Cleaning Council, Lee Baker, continues to build up excitement for the cleaning calendar’s main event, now that the Cleaning Show is almost upon us.

The Cleaning Show returns to London’s Excel in March for an exhibition that organisers promise will be bigger and better than anything that has gone before.

There will be unrivalled networking opportunities, an extensive seminar programme, thousands of product launches, demonstrations, awards ceremonies, and much more.

It’s an extra special event this year, as the British Cleaning Council is marking its 35th anniversary at the show with a larger exhibition stand than normal, so that nine member associations can share the podium together.

The BCC is very proud to be co-owners of the Cleaning Show, along with Quartz Business Media, and everyone at the Council is looking forward to the moment on March 14th when the doors open and the exhibition springs into life.

The event is being supported by some of the cleaning industry’s biggest names, among them: Kärcher, Nilfisk, Kimberly-Clark Professional, Industrial Cleaning Equipment (ICE), Jangro, Makita, Morclean, Selden Research, Templa, Truvox, Vacleansa and Vileda Professional.

Hundreds of contract cleaners, facility managers and others with cleaning and hygiene responsibility have already registered to attend, and they will be joined by many more industry professionals from the UK and overseas.

Many people who visited the previous Excel show in 2015 commented about the vibrant atmosphere in the hall, and the ingenuity and creativity of the exhibitors’ stands. Those aspects are guaranteed to feature again, but on a much larger scale.

Another important element of the show two years ago was the amount of business done on the stands. Exhibitors say they gained many more high quality leads than at the previous show at the NEC in Birmingham, and that is why many signed up straight away for the 2017 show.

Trade shows in general are going through something of a renaissance. Many people predicted their demise as digital technology took hold, but studies show that people still do like the personal contact and face-to-face interaction a big trade exhibition offers.

And this human interaction works both ways. Attendees get the opportunity to see products being demonstrated before they buy. And manufacturers, suppliers and service providers get a golden opportunity to connect with a very large number of current and potential customers, in one location over a short period of time.

Although business and networking is the primary reason most people will attend a large exhibition, modern trade shows have to offer more. Visitors like to be educated and informed, and at the Cleaning Show 2017 they will not be disappointed, as organisers have provided a number of features to enhance their experience.

This year’s features include:

• A free seminar programme: The seminar programme will consider solutions to challenges currently facing the industry. Topics up for discussion include; Marketing, Immigration Enforcement, Apprenticeships, Health and Safety, The Living Wage, The Environment and Europe.

• The Green Zone: Visitors to the Cleaning Show are increasingly looking for environmentally friendly products. This area will showcase a range of different companies, all focused on promoting environmentally sensitive cleaning practices.

• The Cleaning Show Innovation Awards: The Cleaning Show Innovation Awards are presented across the following categories – Cleaning Products; Floor Cleaning; Outdoor Cleaning; Carpet Cleaning; Window Cleaning; Washroom Hygiene; Sustainable Cleaning; and Management Systems.

• The Management Systems Zone: A new technology zone will be unveiled at the Cleaning Show 2017 and will be focused on promoting an effective workforce and financial control systems.

• The CSSA Awards: New awards from the recently relaunched CSSA which will focus on UK based companies. The categories are: Contract Innovation, Training, Environmental & Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility, New Product and Outstanding Contribution.
