IT MATTERS TO GRADUS Contract interiors specialists, Gradus, have introduced a new barrier matting systems catalogue showcasing full details of their extensive matting portfolio, including a selection of new products and formats.

As well as new, striking photography, the 64-page catalogue includes helpful advice and product recommendations, enabling the end user to select the right matting system for specific applications.

The catalogue shows where matting can be used in different areas of a building at risk of soiling and heavy wear, using a ‘zonal’ illustration. This is accompanied by user-friendly product selection guides for both primary and secondary barrier matting for easy comparison of products.

It also features a handy three-step guide for selecting the correct barrier matting, which considers the application, matting type (primary or secondary) and performance of matting along with the amount of matting recommended for specific environments.

Within the new catalogue, details can be found of Gradus’ new Esplanade 9000 heavy-duty matting, available from February 2016.

The catalogue contains an extensive ‘Specification Guidelines’ section, looking at how to specify matting based on the findings of the Health & Safety Laboratory (HSL) and

Entrance Flooring Systems Association (EFSA) study. This section also details main points relating to entrance matting from The Building Regulations 2010 Approved Document M, BS8300:2009+A1:2010, with supporting advice and recommendations from Gradus.

Karen Burman, Product Manager for Gradus Matting, commented: “Barrier matting forms the start of the journey through a building. Our systems help to reduce slip accidents caused by wet floors and maintain the aesthetics of surrounding floorcoverings by reducing the amount of dirt and moisture tracked in from foot and wheeled traffic. This, in turn, reduces maintenance costs and prolongs the life of the surrounding floorcoverings.”
