The recognition of a high demand for wood decors in areas such as the domestic bathroom and commercial areas including hotels, shops and restaurants has led to the innovative aqua+ technology from EGGER. This new product category allows laminate flooring to be installed in bathrooms and wet areas with security and without the use of an additional topcoat or joint sealings.
In current trends, the bathroom is becoming more and more important as a feature of the home and a haven of relaxation with spa and wellness aspects. Wood flooring designs complement the trend providing a natural and comfortable ambience. In the commercial sector the design, robustness, installation and cost of laminate flooring with aqua+ technology is appealing for project work.
The secret of the aqua+ technology is an HDF coreboard with special characteristics. It is five times more resistant to vapour and splash water than regular coreboards. Together with the highly water-repellent and tightly closed topcoat, it is this coreboard which prevents the swelling of boards around the edges. This enables the flooring to be fitted in the same way as regular laminate flooring and in the same amount of time - if not faster thanks to the new UNIfit installation system.

COMMERCIAL APPLICATIONS The moisture resistant laminate floors are suitable for use in commercial areas, where they provide hotels, retail spaces, offices and many more environments with a natural and friendly atmosphere, trendy decors alongside security and confidence in quality.
It is possible to use steam cleaners on these moisture-resistant floors, as long as the local steam contact does not last for more than 30 seconds. Even cleaning with permanently moving scrubbing and suction machines of up to 100kg is not a problem.
MARKET FEEDBACK Sales have exceeded expectations in this new product category. Feedback from installers shows that the product is viewed as an excellent alternative to other moisture resistant products due to the price point, an exciting décor range and the ease and speed of installation.
