Uber’s first Centre of Excellence outside of the United States opened in Limerick in January and will play a major role in supporting the organisation across EMEA. The company has invested over €4 million in the city to date as it aims to make Limerick one of its growing network of customer service hubs across the world.

Irish tech leader Cubic Telecom has partnered with Japanese internet services company, Rakuten, to create a global travel SIM which will allow Rakuten mobile customers manage their own customised price plans, access data bundles and purchase prepaid plans.
Pioneering times
Maynooth University is set to become a central hub for 5G and IoT testing. Radiospace will provide a large-scale facility that allows scientists and engineers to develop new 5G communications devices and is the first facility of its kind in Ireland.
