Marks & Clerk adds principal in Canada
IP fi rm Marks & Clerk has hired a principal in its Canadian offi ce. Grant Lynds, who will join the Ottawa-based
offi ce, will advise clients on patent and trademark litigation as well as patent prosecution. He joins from Canadian law fi rm Gowling
Lafl eur Henderson and previously worked as a litigation counsel and senior IP rights counsel at former telecoms company Nortel. Keith Hodkinson, chairman of Marks &
Clerk International, said: “A skilled litigator and prosecutor, Grant is a very good hire for our Ottawa offi ce. He brings with him a wealth of experience acquired both in-house and in private practice.”
Duane Morris welcomes back familiar face
Law fi rm Duane Morris has boosted its New York offi ce with the re-appointment of Richard T urston, more than 30 years aſt er he leſt the fi rm. T urston, who joins the IP practice group as
counsel, was previously senior vice president and general counsel at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company. He has experience in the micro-electronics
and licensing markets. From 1980 to 1984, he was an attorney
at Duane Morris, focusing on trademark, copyright and trade secrets. John Soroko, chief executive of Duane Morris,
said: “We’re very pleased to welcome Richard and his extensive experience to enhance our IP practice.”

Hogan Lovells adds partner in San Francisco
Law fi rm Hogan Lovells has added Jason Lohr as partner in its San Francisco offi ce. Lohr counsels companies on a variety of
patent, trademark and other IP issues. Lohr, who joins from law firm Novak
Druce Connolly Bove & Quigg LLP, will work in the IP, media, and technology practice (IPMT). Celine Crowson, head of the Americas IPMT practice at Hogan Lovells, said: “Jason’s strong
technology and patent prosecution
background will benefi t our clients in Northern California and nationally.”
Schiff Hardin welcomes counsel to Chicago team
Law fi rm Schiff Hardin has added Cindy Ahn as counsel in its intellectual property practice group. Ahn, who will join the fi rm’s Chicago offi ce,
has experience in private practice and in-house roles. She joins Schiff Hardin from Global IP Law
Group, where she worked as partner. Ahn also worked as legal consultant
for
medical device company AccessClosure and as general counsel for biotechnology company T ird Wave Technologies. She has experience litigating patent cases. Steve Hankins, head of Schiff Hardin’s IP practice group,
