The Wiggens WH220-R is an exceptionally versatile multi-functional hot plate / stirrer. It incorporates a round glass ceramic top plate and uses infrared technology for heat generation. The glass ceramic top plate has very good heat conductivity characteristics, which results in a safer and more efficient heat transfer from the heat source to the solution.
In addition, it can resist up to 700°C of thermal shocks which comes in handy when the occasional spillover meets the fully heated top plate, a situation which often leads to cracks in conventional ceramic top plates. The infrared heater works way more efficient than traditional hot plates. It heats up quicker, can reach a higher maximum temperature, and create a much more stable temperature curve than its peers.
The round top plate fits perfectly to the wildly used 500ml and 1l beakers. Most importantly, it is shaped ideally for the addition of heating blocks. Wiggens offers a great number of heating blocks for flasks of all shapes and sizes. These heating blocks are all manufactured in-house so as to provide only units of the highest quality standards and to be able to provide custom-made solutions.
In addition, specifically selected stir bars make it possible to stir multiple flasks at once and by inserting a temperature sensor directly inside the heating block, utmost precise temperature measurement is possible. To top it off, the WH220-R employs a large LCD display with individual control and monitoring of the heating and stirring processes as well as a timer function.
