Pumps, Valves & Liquid Handling
Diluting and Proportional Fluid Control with ±1% Precision for Medical and Analytical Instrumentation
The STH and STQ Duplex metering pumps from Fluid Metering, Inc are ideal for precision mixing, diluting, and proportional metering for OEM medical, analytical, and industrial instrumentation.
FMI’s OEM Duplex Metering Pumps consist of two FMI valveless pump heads direct coupled to a single variable stepper motor drive. The displacement of each pump head is independently adjustable, and a variety of pump head sizes can be used in combinations to achieve dispensing ratios from 1:1 up to 500:1 from microlitres to litres.
Fluid Metering’s OEM Duplex Metering Pumps feature FMI’s patented CeramPump® valveless piston pumping technology and are the valveless-syringe alternative to conventional syringe pumps. The CeramPump® has only one moving part in the fluid path, a sapphire-hard ceramic piston, which accomplishes both pumping and valving functions, without valves.
The result is a unique valveless pump design which eliminates multiple syringes, valves, actuators, and drivers required by conventional syringe pumps for continuous fluid dispensing and metering. By eliminating valves and utilising ceramic internals, FMI OEM Duplex Pumps will dispense millions of maintenance-free cycles at ±1% precision without recalibration.
In addition, the FMI pump has unidirectional continuous flow, utilising two separate ports for input and output. Throughput of the FMI CeramPump® is significantly increased over syringe designs which both fill and dispense through the same single port.

The Ultimate Solution to the Challenges of Bottle Top Dispensers In today’s world, Bottle Top Dispensers are integral part of every laboratory
using variety of reagents including acids, solvents and crystalline liquids.
The users have constantly faced a challenge of rinsing the instrument after use with acids, solvents and crystalline solutions, which has always been a strong recommendation from the manufacturers. In practical scenario, rinsing the Dispenser is very cumbersome due to dismounting it from reagent bottle and mounting it on distilled water bottle and mounting it back on reagent bottle.
Refilling the bottle is another major problem that involves dismounting and remounting of the Dispenser and purging before use. In case of aggressive reagents an additional element of danger and risk is involved during bottle refilling.
By introducing ULTIMUS, Microlit has answered the most challenging and demanding limitations of Dispensers available in the world market.
ULTIMUS not only provides rinsing and bottle refilling features, but also provides an additional feature of dilution mode with the same dispenser without dismounting.
Microlit is proud to present ULTIMUS, the most advanced, state of the art Bottle Top Dispenser in the world. With patented technology Microlit has delivered a product that combines unique functionality, user-friendliness and performance. This technology involves a special dual valve system that can be used in various combinations, offering different modes of operation.
ULTIMUS offers its users 4 modes of dispensing in one dispenser without dismounting from the bottle: Bottle Refilling – the user can refill the bottle from a barrel or another bottle through the second valve; Rinsing – the user can rinse the instrument by simply running distilled water through the instrument via the second valve; Dilution – the user can also use this technology to dilute the reagent with distilled water; Dual Liquid Handling – a unique application of using two liquids in the same unit is also possible with the dual valve technology.
After 2 years of strong R&D, Microlit has evolved this stable and groundbreaking technology and ULTIMUS is now available to the users. With the years of innovation and constant improvements, Microlit has always stood by its vision of ‘Redefining liquid handling systems’.

Spinning in the Middle with New 5ml Midi Centrifuge Tubes If you’re looking for that intermediate volume option between
microcentrifuge tubes and 15ml centrifuge tubes then look no further. Alpha Laboratories has the perfect solution, the new 5ml conical base Midi Centrifuge Tube. The shorter height of the tube provides increased protection against contamination as long pipette barrels do not need to be inserted into the tube when aspirating or dispensing samples.
Featuring an easy-to-open, flat, frosted cap and a large frosted writing area they ensure easy sample labelling and identification. Supplied in handy resealable packs either sterile
or non-sterile natural coloured tubes, assorted colours or amber for light sensitive samples.
Alpha’s Midi Centrifuge tubes are 56.6mm in height and graduated at every 0.25ml for more accurate volume estimation. The tube diameter is 19mm, the same as standard 15ml centrifuge tubes, making them compatible with many standard centrifuge rotors.
The tubes can be centrifuged to 21,000 rcf and autoclaved at 121ºC for up to 20 minutes. Made from high grade polypropylene, they have undergone rigorous functional testing, ensuring their suitability for a wide variety of applications.
The perfect companion to the 5ml tubes is the new 4-Way Midi Combirack that offers a space- saving, convenient way to store a range of tube sizes from 0.5ml to 50ml. It is autoclavable and suitable for use in ultra-low temperature freezers.
The new 5ml midi centrifuge tubes and 4-way Midi Combirack are now available from Alpha Laboratories. Please visit
