Goddesses! Heed my call. Yes, you. If you haven’t already, now is the time to embrace your blessed, beautiful and incredibly powerful feminine nature to exert your influence on and make your mark in the world. Fifty-one years ago (1966), James Brown recorded It’s a

Man’s World as an homage to women. Today, most of us may still question how far women have really advanced toward breaking the glass ceilings of equal pay, executive positions or high political office. Strides have been made in the last 50 years in these areas, yet there’s deeper change going on below the surface as we energetically shift into a feminine era on a psycho-socio-cultural-spiritual level. In Megan McFeely’s film As She Is, it is posited that we have no choice but

to evolve from a patriarchal society as a matter of survival, and that the creative power (for change) is the domain of the feminine. Your leadership and your femi- nine essence in the world is more vital now than ever. At Natural Awakenings, we are blessed to witness and interact daily with

significant growth of an essential wave of feminine leadership impacting com- munity building and entrepreneurship throughout South Central Pennsylvania. An overwhelming 75 percent of the businesses represented as advertisers in this issue are owned or co-owned by women. It is no accident that many businesses and service providers dedicated to

fostering healthy living, natural healing, self-awareness, personal growth, effective communication and community-building are inspired and led by women. It is the natural instinct and essence of the feminine. Thank goodness. Thank Goddess. As the divine feminine gives birth to a new era in our civilization, the symbolism is not lost on the inclusion of our feature article on natural moth- erhood for those preparing for natural pregnancy and childbirth. The birth of a new era and the actual birth of a child are both guided by women’s deep intuitive instinct. With Mother’s Day as the cornerstone, in this issue we salute all moms and

more. We honor the divine feminine in all of us as we encourage peace, compas- sion, understanding and nurturing of the human spirit. As we birth a new way of being into the world and foster an inclusive and loving embrace of all beings, we invite you to keep feeling good, living simply and laughing more.
