Open churchyardsA leer had been received from Tonbridge and Malling Council (TMBC) saying they would not be providing funding to parish councils for maintenance of churchyards. The cost of churchyard maintenance had been included in the parish council’s budget for the coming year. Capital projects Ideas discussed included the installation of a seat on Butchers Lane at the entrance to Bell Equine Clinic and the illumination of the outside of the church. The clerk said the parish council could only pay for work to the churchyard and not the church itself. Itwas agreed that the PCC should discuss this issue. Improvements to the pavilion kitchen and showerswere also suggested aswere the purchase of land at Great Fowle Meadow and improvements to the play area. Highways Regarding white lining on The Street, Cllr AndrewWells had spoken to residents and would confirm with the clerk the request for additional gateway entrance white lines to be painted once all residents affected had been consulted. Kent Street KCC’s plans has been circulated to all members.A resident had asked for a bollard to be installed at the corner of the property at Kent Street/A228 as vehicleswere constantly damaging the building. Kent Highwayswere unwilling to do this. Allotments Therewas one vacant half plot and one vacant full plot. Large items of rubbish had been left on one of the plots. Cllr Jon Regan would investigate. Recreation area Itwas reported that dog foulingwas becoming a serious problem. Cllr Regan would contact the dogwarden for advice and invite her to the next parish council meeting. Avehicle being driven in Booth Close, Snodland, had the driver’s window smashed by a shot from an air rifle. AMercedes C class car parked in Norman
Road,West Malling,was keyed. Stoneswere thrown over the fence, smashing a greenhouse in Bramley road, Snodland. This occurred on three separate occasions. AHonda Accord parked in the road in Hanbury Close,Wateringbury,was keyed. In BeaconAvenue, Kings Hill, a parcel
was stolen from the doorstep or a house. Avan parked in a layby in New Hythe
Lane, Larkfield,was damaged. Asummer house behind a house in Townsend Road, Snodland,was broken into and a red and white Cube road cyclewas stolen. InWaterlooWalk, Kings Hill, a white and
black Specialized bicyclewas stolen, along with the chain and lock, Awooden street post with directionswas
try to arrange sponsorship from supermarkets. The Moody Mare had been asked for a prize donation and theWeald Granary would be asked for a donation. Cllr Regan would supply strawberries and would investigate obtaining cream and Prosecco. Village Pound Cllr Jenny Thorogood said the grass had become churned up by vehicles. Blaise Farm The parish council continued to object to the proposed variation of the planning permission at the quarry to increase the size of the blasts from 10kg to 25kg. If residents have concerns about current blasting they should contact Gallagher and KCC. Details of who to contact are available on the parish council website. Speed indicator device County Cllr Sarah Hohlerwas thanked for providing funding for a new mobile speed indicator device for the village. It is hoped this will reduce the speed and volume of traffic through the village in combination with the environmental enhancement scheme, whichwas due to begin at the end of May. Trees competition The parish council would be entering the Kent Men of Trees, Trees in the Village competition 2017. Calendar Photos for theOamVillage Calendar 2018 had been selected and a winner chosen. The calendars would be available for sale by May Day, with profits going to village projects. May Day The annual event would be held on the village green on April 29. Further detailswere available on the parish website. Village hall The commieewas congratulated for its hard work and tireless efforts fundraising. Volunteerswere needed for a maintenance department sub commiee. Quiz night The parish council quiz night
was a great success and raised more than £750 for village projects.

Play area County Cllr Sarah Hohler had approved a donation of £1,500 from her member’s grant for the play area works. The works had been ordered and the clerk would prepare an application for grant funding for stage two. Police report PCSO McMillan introduced himself. Cllr Storey said the mail box at the entrance to the village hall had been broken into. Dog waste bins TMBC had been asked to install a dog poo bin at the corner of the recreation ground. It had replied that they were reviewing their costs. TMBC had put a sticker on one of the existing bins to show that lier bins could also be used for bagged dogwaste and could place stickers on other bins. The clerkwas asked to inform TMBC that the parish councilwas prepared to pay for the bin. Brickworks site A penalty notice had been given to two workmen on the Brickworks site who had thrown rubbish out of their vehicle window. Redrowwas writing to contractors asking them not to leave rubbish.
Communication Members confirmed that they did notwant to get involved in social media. Theywere interested in including information in the church magazine to show what the parish councilwas doing. Highways The clerk would report a pothole outside the Duke ofWellington. The clerk would ask the highways inspector if he would meet Cllr Emson to discuss the damage on Woodgate Road. Therewere complaints about the village being used as a rat run – a motorbike an quad bike had been racing through the village at about 4.45am,waking residents up.
Footpath The MR149 path from The Street to the boom of Workhouse Roadwas being used by horses coming out at Monfield. The clerk would report this.

Road, Larkfield,was damaged. Alloy wheelswere removed without consent from a vehicle in Malling Road, Snodland. AVolvo XC60 parked in a supermarket
car park in Alexander Grove, Kings Hill, was keyed. The curtain side of a lorry trailer parked in
a car park at an industrial estate in New Hythe Lane, Larkfield,was slashed. Itwas not known whether anythingwas taken. Ared Husqvarna ride-on lawnmower
and 20 horse rugswere stolen from a farm in London Road, Addington.

Road, Snodland,was keyed. Avehicle parked in Twisden Road, East Malling,was taken without the owner’s consent but has been recovered. In Alexander Grove, Kings Hill,a black/grey Carrera bicyclewas stolen from where itwas secured in a car park. Someone stole a bike from the communal bike racks at Leybourne Lakes.
