for calendar FOLLOWING the success of the Memories of Snodland calendar, the Friends of All Saints’ are plan- ning a new edition for 2018 and are inviting photographers to sub- mit photos of the town. "The new calendar will aim to capture the different aspects of life in Snodland during the year," said Chris Howick. "The photographs could show the scenic beauty of the town and its surrounding area during one of the four seasons. "On the other hand, they could

reflect some of the milestones during the year, such as a cricket match on the green, the carnival, the Remembrance Day parade or the arrival of Father Christmas." Entry forms are available from

Home & Hobby in Malling Road and should be returned with pho- tographs by Monday, April 24.

First aid award for pre-school

A LOCAL pre-school is one of the first nurseries in the UK to be awarded Millie's Mark by National DayNurseries Association (NDNA) in collaboration with the Depart- ment for Education and Millie's Trust.

Clocktower Childcare of Roberts

Road, Snodland won the award, named after Millie Thompson who died as a result of choking in a nursery in 2012. Her parents, Dan and Joanne Thompson, campaigned for all staff to have paediatric first aid training and having Millie's Mark demonstrates this has been achieved. In addition, it shows they work hard to keep these crucial

skills in the forefront of employees' minds, so they can apply paedi- atric first aid in any situation. Lara Baverstock, Clocktower's manager, said: "We are thrilled to have been awarded Millie's Mark. This is such a special achievement and shows how serious we are about ensuring children are safe in our care." Purnima Tanuku, chief executive

of the association, said: "Achieving Millie's Mark is a great achieve- ment for the nursery. "Becoming a Millie's Mark nurs-

ery is a clear indicator for parents that this nursery has met the high- est standards and reasures them that their children are safe."
