THE four schools in Snodland raised £2,200 on Red Nose Day for Comic Relief. Holmesdale School, St Kather-
ine's Primary and Nursery, the Church of England Primary and Valley Invicta Primary at Holbor- ough Lakes all had non-uniform days and encouraged pupils to dress in red. Holmesdale students paid £1
each to wear non-school uniform and sixth-formers, led by commu- nity ambassador Samantha Sparkes, organised various activ- ities such as a cake sale, “guess the sweets in the jar” and a relay race.

tutor time and learning resource centre manager Emma Foreman held a quiz tombola in the library.

SNODLAND Town Football Club's manager, Gavin Gillies, has won the Southern Counties LeagueManager of theMonth award after the club won four successive league matches in March. He told
Town Talk: "It wasabitofa shock. The team deserves it. It ismore for them than for me." He is pic-

Tony said: "It always takes a couple of seasons to settle down and, in its first season, Snodland has done really well." After the presentation Snodland went on to beat Phoenix Sports Reserves 4 - 1.
St Katherine’s School was de- scribed as a “sea ofmany shades of red”. All the children gave £1 for not wearing school uniform and the School Council prepared Red Nose Day biscuits and sold them to each class. During the day the children
took part in a joke competition, firstly in their classes, and then at the end-of-the-day assembly, the winners from each class told their jokes to the entire school. The Church of England School encouraged children to wear red and various activities organised by the charity committee led by a group of the pupils, helped raise funds. Valley Invicta School had a non- school uniform day and the pupils had to wear some red clothing.
Club contest
SNODLAND Town Football Club's annual tournament will be held on June 17 and 18 at Potyns Sports Ground. It is open to age groups U6's through to U18's plus a veterans section. U6's and U7's will be 5-a- side, U8's and U9's 7-a-side, U10's and U11's 9-a-side, U12's and U13's 11-a-side, U14's to U18's and veter- ans 6-a-side. Last year more than 140 teams
took part and entries are on a first come first served basis, with a clos- ing date of May 5. Refreshments in- clude a barbecue, snacks, hot and cold drinks and a licensed bar. The organisers are David Jeal,
