Musithon raises over £3,000


SNODLAND'S Got Stamina 24- hour Musithon proved that the town does, in fact, have stamina. Individuals and groups played,


sang and danced for audiences throughout the day. The event was organised by the


team working on a replacement building for Christ Church Com- munity Hall in Malling Road, Snodland. More than £1,600 was


taken in donations and for re- freshments. With sponsorship money, the organisers are hoping the total will exceed £3,000. One of the organisers, Jonathan Overell, said: "The variety was ev- ident in the final session, when some of those who had per- formed earlier came back to play again and Twist and Shout shared a stage with Beethoven and sin-


galong folk songs. "The team would like to thank everyone who contributed to a memorable day."

The cubs were helped on the Saturday by members of the town council and residents. In an hour they picked up 15 bags of rubbish and a car tyre from an area includ- ing the cricket meadow and car


park, Rocfort Road and the foot- path between Rocfort Road and Red Lion House. In the last issue of Town Talk, people were urged to "go the extra mile" to improve the town.
