Luther Burbank’s Experiment Farm, Gold Ridge Farm Open House & Plant Sale April 29th & 30th!

experiments which resulted in the creation of more than 800 new vari- eties of trees, shrubs and flowers at Gold Ridge Farm in Sebastopol. Three acres of the original 18 are maintained by the volun- teers from the Western So- noma County Historical So- ciety, and are open to the pub- lic, free of charge.

around the paths. Kids love to make rope with the antique rope machine that they turn by hand..

Sonoma County CA. ~ Please join us at the McCormick ad- dition to Sugarloaf Ridge State Park on Saturday, April 15. En- trance to McCormick is through Hood Mountain Regional Park, located at the end of Los Ala- mos Road, off of Highway 12. Meet us at 9:45 AM for a prompt 10 AM departure, at the bottom of the hill in the large gravel parking lot. This 8.5 mile strenuous hike requires climbing a total of 1800 feet in elevation and will last ap- proximately 5.5 hours. Among the splendid views, hikers will enjoy the Grandmother Oak, the largest Coast Live Oak in Sonoma County. Wear sturdy


hiking shoes and bring lunch with plenty to drink. Bring appropriate


clothing for the weather rain or shine.


Be aware that we will be crossing the Santa Rosa Creek twice and depending on the weather you may have to re- move your boots! Note that the parking fee for Hood Mountain Regional Park will apply. Our regular hikes happen at: Sugar- loaf Ridge, Jack London, Tri- one-Annadel State Parks, Hood Mountain, Shiloh Ranch, and Spring Lake Regional Parks.
