YEARS REWARDING EXCELLENCE

PHARMACY TEAM MEMBER OF THE YEAR LORNA BRADY

A community pharmacist is not ‘the pharmacy’, but rather a member of a team of individuals, each of whom has their own role to play in ensuring the highest quality of service to customers and patients.

now in her twenty-fifth year at Bessbrook Pharmacy, the winner of this year’s Pharmacy team Member of the Year, lorna Brady, personifies the qualities that a team member

should display to colleagues and patients alike.

the judges of this award were impressed by the evidence provided of lorna’s total commitment to her role. ‘Using her experience of her established career,’ the judges said, ‘lorna marries her professional and personal experience to lead on initiatives that give better outcomes for her patients: in particular the

impressive 84 per cent smoking cessation quit rate that she has achieved by lending support on faceBook.’

‘Working together as a team and helping each other out is the key to a successful pharmacy service,’ lorna told Pif.

‘I have done this work for nearly 25 years - working with different

pharmacists - and I’m convinced that collaboration will bring the greatest benefits to the patients.’

‘We are delighted to be involved in this event and especially to be sponsoring this award,’ said lynda Magee from sponsor WaterWipes. ‘People like lorna remind us what an amazing industry pharmacy is and show the importance of giving back to the community.’
