CUSTOMER SERVICE (4+ PHARMACIES) GORDONS CHEMIST BUSHMIllS

the patient as we know is always at the heart of healthcare – especially at gordons Chemist in Bushmills, which was the worthy recipient of this year’s Customer Service (4+ pharmacies) award.

the mystery shopper, who judged this category, described herself as ‘very warmly welcomed on entering the store’ and remarked that ‘all staff I encountered when moving round

the shop greeted me and engaged with me. the staff have excellent customer service skills including good eye contact, smiles and warm greetings for customers. they also engaged with customers by asking questions and commenting on the weather etc’.

‘I think it’s the atmosphere in the shop that makes the greatest impression on the patients and

customers,’ said pharmacist, Kathryn Kane.

‘the atmosphere is terrific and the girls all get on very well. We firmly believe in treating each and every customer as an individual and focus our customer service entirely on making them feel special. I think that’s what has led to our success and we are absolutely delighted.’

‘In light of the current financial constraints,’ said David guest from award sponsor, Wockhardt, ‘it’s very important that pharmacy’s service to the community is recognised. the Pharmacy in focus Awards play a major role in doing this and we’re always pleased to be involved.’
