Day 1 Hanoi. From the UK, fly overnight to Hanoi.
Day 2 Hanoi. From Hanoi airport, we take you to your hotel where you can settle in for a two-night stay and enjoy free time to explore Vietnam’s thousand-year-old capital, with its Belle-Époque villas, tree-lined avenues and grand public buildings set around beautiful parks and lakes. Explore the city's narrow streets and traditional pagodas. Hanoi is an energetic city on the move, that is embracing the future as much as it is preserving its past.
Day 3 Hanoi. After breakfast, enjoy an included guided tour of this exciting city. Discover the country’s multicultural heritage at the Museum of Ethnology. Tour the notorious ‘Hanoi Hilton’ where POWs were held during the Vietnam War. In the afternoon, visit Hanoi’s Temple of Literature, founded in 1070, with its inviting courtyards and pavilions. Visit One Pillar Pagoda, widely regarded as one of Vietnam’s most iconic temples. Enjoy the rest of the day to relax before indulging in a delicious included dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 4 Hanoi and Siem Reap. Enjoy an included leisurely ride through Hanoi’s Old Quarter by electric car. Many of the streets are named after their original trade, including silk and jewellery. Enjoy free time to explore before taking a short flight to Siem Reap in Cambodia. Check in to your hotel for a three-night stay and enjoy dinner accompanied by a traditional Apsara dance show.
Day 5 Angkor Wat and Siem Reap. Visit the great temple complex of Angkor, one of the largest and most important archaeological sites in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Angkor Wat has become a symbol of Cambodia, and appears on its national flag. The largest and best preserved of the Khmer temples, it was built as a funerary temple for King Suryavarman II in the 12th century and boasts intricate bas-relief stone carvings. Your included tour also takes you to Angkor Thom, with its magnificent Terrace of the Elephants and Terrace of the Leper King, as well as the mysterious Bayon Temple, with its giant, smiling stone carved faces.
