Day 1 Bordeaux. From Bordeaux airport we take you to your Viking Longship where you can settle in and relax or begin to explore. A port city located on the Garonne River, graceful Bordeaux is a UNESCO World Heritage site, with beautifully restored neoclassical architecture and many elegant boulevards.


Day 2 Bordeaux and Cadillac. Enjoy an included walking tour of Bordeaux city centre that reveals its historic highlights, including the Place des Quinconces, one of Europe’s largest squares, and the neoclassical Grand Théâtre, as well as several magnificent churches. Later, enjoy scenic cruising along the beautiful River Garonne to the old bastide town of Cadillac.


Day 3 Cadillac. Your day begins with an included tour of this historic town before travelling to Sauternes to sample some of the area’s famous sweet dessert wines, and discover the time- honoured winemaking traditions of this region.


Day 4 Libourne and Saint-Émilion. Begin your day with a walk through Libourne’s picturesque square, lined with buildings dating as far back as the 16th century. Another great wine-growing bastion, Libourne is also renowned for its fine food. Alternatively, choose an optional excursion to Bergerac, and learn about its famous truffles. Or join an optional visit to the nearby Château Siaurac where you can meet the owners, walk among the vines and learn about the different grape varieties. After lunch on board your ship,


travel to picturesque Saint-Émilion, another UNESCO World Heritage site, with beautifully preserved medieval streets and buildings. Take a tour of Saint-Émilion before enjoying a free afternoon to wander around this enchanting town.


Day 5 Blaye and Bourg. Enjoy an included tour of Blaye’s extraordinary 17th-century citadel built on a rock beside the river and containing the ruins of a Gothic château. From this UNESCO World Heritage site, you are treated to stunning views of the river. Return to your ship for lunch before enjoying an afternoon stroll around picture-perfect Bourg, a medieval village that sits high on a rocky outcrop and is surrounded by orchards and vineyards. Or join an optional excursion to the charming town of Cognac, home of the world-famous brandy. On this fascinating tour, you’ll visit a Cognac distillery and join a master blender in a workshop uncovering the secrets of Cognac blending.


Day 6 Pauillac. Sail downstream to the lovely Médoc town of Pauillac, home of some of Bordeaux’s most famous wines, and enjoy an included excursion through beautiful wine country. Along the way, stop off to sample several wines, including the renowned Margaux. Travel through the rolling hills covered in vineyards to a château for dinner, accompanied by wines produced on the estate – all part of your included excursion.
