COMMERCIAL TOWER, SEATTLE SKANSKA


Skanska is investing a total of around $392m (£315m) in an office project in Seattle, USA, which will see a new 38-storey office tower constructed in a prime downtown location in the north-western city. Around 62,000 m2 space as well as 1700 m2 2200 m2

ELBPHILHARMONIE, HAMBURG HERZOG & DE MEURON


According to the architects, the Elbphilarmonie concert hall together with the Kaispecher studio/events space are set to become a “new centre of social cultural and daily life for the people of Hamburg and for visitors from all over the world.” Said Herzog & de Meuron, “Too often a new cultural centre appears to cater to the privileged few. In order to make the new Philharmonic a genuinely public attraction, it is imperative to provide not only attractive architecture, but also an attractive mix of urban uses.” The building complex accommodates a philharmonic hall, a chamber music hall, restaurants, bars, and a panorama terrace with views of Hamburg and the harbour, as well as apartments, a hotel and parking facilities.
