The Fishermen’s Mission launches the Looe Fire walk and challenges you to take part.

Conquer the coals and walk across 20 feet of embers burning at 1236 degrees Fahrenheit without experiencing any pain or injury all whilst raising money for charity.


Taking place in Looe harbour, Cornwall on 17th April 2017 the money raised will help The Fisherman’s Mission continue to provide emergency help and welfare to active and retired fishermen and their families.


You’ll get full training and there will be stalls, music and street food and a fully licensed bar to entertain your supporters whilst

The fundraising event has been organised in conjunction with Looe Harbour Commissioners, The Old Sail Loft and Looe Music Festival.

Pop singer Lulu will be heading to Looe Music Festival at the end of September to headline the beach stage on the Saturday night.


The 68-year-old has never stopped performing since she first burst onto the music scene in 1964 with her big hit ‘Shout’, which made her name synonymous with rock and blues.


Since then she has topped the charts in every decade, working over the years with some of the greatest talents to include Jimi Hendrix, The


Beatles, Elton John, and David Bowie.


Iconic tracks include The Man Who Sold the World, The Boat That I Row and To Sir With Love, as well as the title song to the James Bond film The Man With The Golden Gun.


Also featuring on the Take That 90s classic Relight My Fire, Lulu has recently appeared with Gary Barlow as a judge on the BBC One Saturday night show Let It Shine.


Showing no signs of slowing down, last year Lulu’s 2016 tour received critical acclaim.


This year’s Looe Music Festival runs from Friday, September 29 to Sunday, October 1.


LOOE NEWS MARCH / APRIL 2017 5 Looe Harbour Commissioners


Established in 1848, the modern Board of Commissioners have control of the two harbour side car parks, lease various units and buildings to fishing related industries as well as employ 10 persons for the ongoing upkeep and maintenance of harbour.


As well as moorings and quayside berths for some 85 private boats and dinghies; the fishing fleet at Looe consists of 47 vessels of various sizes [mainly under 10 metres in length] from Trawlers to hand line mackerel boats. The fleet employs approximately 120 fishermen with another 40 workers employed in the ancillary related industries.
