Club celebration
On February 10, 35 members and guests of the Looe Darby and Joan Club celebrated the club’s 54th year.
A three-course lunch was enjoyed by all and, after the cutting of the cake by Beryl Lee of the RVS and chairperson Audrey Wharnby, the club was entertained by Peter ‘Mac’ Dell singing songs of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and others.
Guests included Carol Jane of the RVS, drivers of the Lions minibus Neil and Simon, and Alan and Jean Dingle.

Games fundraiser
LOOE Boat Owners Association (LBOA) is organising a fundraising event inspired by the BBC Radio shows Just a Minute and I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue.
The chair will attempt to keep order through the expected noise and laughter as each panel is invited to speak for Just a Minute, Complete the Proverb, identify the Late Arrivals at the Hairdressers Ball and navigate Looe’s version of Mornington Crescent, as
well as a number of other rounds. The event, which is being held in aid of Looe Lifeboats, will be held in St Martins Church Hall, Looe, at 7.30pm on Saturday, March 4.
