Five marathons in five days to raise money for football pitches and facilities
This crazy idea came about over a couple of pints at a beach B-B-Q at the end of the summer as a fund raising scheme for Looe Football club. There are over 200 kids/adults who play football in Looe but sadly the pitches and changing rooms/facilities are in need of updating and upgrading and the pitches need drainage and levelling works.
So the following 8 men are
going to run 5 marathons in 5 days to try and raise some funds and awareness for what we are trying to achieve.
The running men!
Matt Taylor, Tristan Wearing, Sean Baker, Dale Staff, Phill Shepley, Christian Merrin, Jay Curtis, Barry Crane. Day 1 - Starting on May 16th from Land’s End running to Hayle.
Day 2 - Hayle to Truro
Day 3 - Truro to St Austell Day 4 - St Austell to Looe Day 5 - Finally Cremyll to finish in Looe (seafront) 20th May. The men are also doing the Looe 10 miler twice, on the 26th February. There is a just giving page:

Great start to 2017 for Looe under 9s
This season the Looe under 9s have pulled up their football socks and started as they mean to go on! With a tricky start to the season, in a tough league, the boys have pulled together and given their all in every match played so far.
They not only participate in the Sunday football league, but also in a tournament and development league held in Plymouth on a Saturday.
Despite being a new team last year, they won silver, so they are training and playing hard in the
hopes of winning gold this year. All of these extra games also helped them to win the east Cornwall final in Newquay last season, as well as holding their own during the R&T tours, where they played up an age group, and gained the fair play cup.
Of course, the boys’ dedication and attitude towards bettering their prospects is influenced not only by the dedication of parents, who ensure that they have kit, subs, transport and above all, support, as well as by their sponsor Pengellys Fish Shop, but also by the dedication of their Manager Victoria Walters Fedarb.
Vicky has worked tirelessly in shaping the boys into the cracking little team they have become. The boys showed how all her hard work has paid off by starting 2017 without a single loss. They have scored 33 goals in the last 5 games, and are confident that they will work hard to keep it up.
The boys can be seen playing their home matches on Sunday morning at Looe football field, where you can have a cup of tea and watch the games (all proceeds to the football club).
Looe Primary Academy
It was the 4th race of the cross country season on Friday 10th February. All runners from Looe Primary Academy had a super race, especially Charlie and Luke who have both qualified for the Newquay cross country county run being held later in the year. Our next race is due to take place on the 3rd March.
