Top teacher of ballet in school visit

A Looe dance student tries out dance partner work with ballet teacher Vernon Fey

Academy car park, and Thursdays 7pm-8pm at the Harbour War Memorial.

Come along, give us a try, and see what all the fuss is about!

Young ballerinas had a rare chance to work with a partner when an international dance teacher paid a visit to South East Cornwall.

Vernon Fey visited King’s School of Dance and Performing Arts in Looe to provide students with a workshop in the graceful and technical art of pas de deux.

Alex King said: ‘Due to a shortage of boys in ballet, young ballerinas rarely have the chance to feel the

joys of partner work, we feel blessed to have been able to provide this opportunity to our students.’

Vernon took along with him his wide array of tutus for the students to try.

‘They all had a wonderful time and enjoyed the opportunity to try different costumes,’ said Alex. ‘We hope to provide many similar workshops in the future.’
