Uniworld pledges to bolster trade relations in 2017

Luxury river cruise line Uniworld is to launch an online training programme, online booking functionality for agents and more educationals.

Speaking on a visit to the UK,

new president and chief executive Ellen Bettridge said the training programme would launch in the US in February, and would be extended to the UK by May. She added that online

bookability for the trade would be available in the first quarter. Bettridge promised the training

would include rich content, as well as fun facts. “Customers want to know that

agents know their stuff,” she said. “So everything on our training

programme is designed to make agents look really knowledgeable. “We want to make them look good

in front of customers, so it will even contain fun facts about the artwork on board or signature recipes.” Uniworld is putting the finishing

“We have to do a better job of telling our story, so agents know exactly what they are selling”

touches to a 360° video to post on YouTube featuring one of its cruise managers, Yann, which it wants agents to host on their websites and share on social media. Bettridge said Uniworld

would take more UK agents on educationals in 2017. “We have to get our product in

front of agents,” she added. “We have to do a better job of telling our story, so they know exactly what they are selling and to whom to sell it. River cruising will evolve; the more trade ambassadors we have.” Last month, Uniworld unveiled its new homeworker network, Uniworld – In Your World, which gives homeworkers access to exclusive training webinars,

events, ship visits and fam trips. uniworld.com
