Lenny Kravitz designs suite at W Hotels’ first Vegas property


W Hotels Worldwide has opened its first hotel in Las Vegas, featuring a luxury suite designed by rock star Lenny Kravitz. The 289 rooms at W Las Vegas


were designed by Philippe Starck in collaboration with Gensler and are said to feature the “cheeky interpretation of luxury hospitality that Starck is known for”. The hotel’s ‘living room’ bar was


inspired by casino gaming tables, while behind the bar, a neon art ‘desert garden’ by artist Keith Lemley changes from day to night. The property’s 2,382-square-


foot Extreme Wow Suite was designed by Kravitz. W Las Vegas also has 80,000sq ft of meeting

Sunhotels is expanding its trade sales team as it reports growth of more than 80% through UK agents in 2016.


The bed bank will add a salesperson in the Midlands, in addition to its representatives covering the north and the south.


Sunhotels is owned by Webjet,


which signed a deal earlier this year to contract all non-brochure hotels for Thomas Cook. Sales director Mark Hopper said


agents were responding well to Sunhotels. “The majority of our product is directly contracted, whereas a lot of our competitors use third parties,” he said. “We’ve doubled the number of contractors in the last 12 months
