The countdown has started to the biggest celebration of travel agents in the UK – the Travel Weekly Agent Achievement Awards, which takes place on July 13. Here we chat to Nick Wilkinson (below, second right) from headline sponsor Norwegian Cruise Line.

Q. Tell us why you are sponsoring the 2016 Agent Achievement Awards. A. Agents are at the core of everything we do at Norwegian Cruise Line. Our Partners First initiative is how we do business and is the very philosophy that drives our company and partners forward. Recognising the work agents do is one of the four key elements within our well-established initiative - education, easy to do business with, reward and recognition, and communication. Agents are a valued extension of our team and we are delighted to to be able to celebrate their hard work.


Q. Why do you think the AAAs has such a special place in the hearts of the trade? A. Agents put in a lot of hard work throughout the year and having the chance to celebrate both their success and that of their colleagues makes the AAAs a very special event. Not to mention that it’s a great chance to catch up with other contacts in the industry and let our hair down.

Q. What you are doing to improve your relationship with and service for agents? A. Travel partners are key to the success of Norwegian Cruise Line in the UK. We are always looking at how we can better assist agents, whether that is by offering new education opportunities through our portal NCL U, or getting their feedback
