Friesian Sporthorses in the News Earlier this year the Friesian Sporthorse mare Celtic Grace (Celtic Roi des Blues x Zena xx) and young rider Averi Allen gained national attention when they won the USEF Dres- sage Seat Medal Finals. Their story was featured on the USEF website and in the Warmbloods Today article “12-Year-Old Wins Dressage Seat Medal Finals on Borrowed Mare” in the November/December 2016 issue.


Friesian Sporthorses at the US Dressage Finals The Friesian Sporthorse Association was once again the offi- cial sponsor of the Friesian Sporthorse High Score awards at the 2016 US Dressage Finals. The Elite Main Book gelding Gunner (Joris W x Nurosa) owned by Patrick Orlaska won the Friesian Sporthorse Open High Score division with rider Sammi Jo Stohler. The Elite mare Daen’s Velvet Hope (Daen 286 x Wonder Walks Velvet) won the Friesian Sporthorse Adult Amateur High Score division with owner/rider Sarah Sharpe.


2016 High Performance Winners The Elite Grand Prix Friesian Sporthorse stallion Lexington saw his record five-year streak as the FSA’s High Performance National Champion come to an end. In 2016 this prestigious title was awarded to the Elite Friesian Sporthorse mare Celtic Grace (Celtic Roi des Blues x Zena xx), owned by Bobbi Wojtowicz and ridden by Jonni Allen. The Elite Friesian Sport- horse gelding Denmark HP (Nico x Vlarina), owned and ridden by Joni Abney, was named Reserve Champion. The High Performance award was established in 2009 in


honor of Ducati CH, the first Friesian Sporthorse to compete at Grand Prix level dressage. Ducati CH was an Elite Main Book gelding (Kristian x Shotsy) owned and ridden by Brooke Cramton.
