Keuring Winners The BWP conducted a very successful tour across North America in 2016, inspecting young stock to stallion pros- pects. We extend big congratulations to our 2016 keuring champions:
Top 2016 Colt: Quartermaster OBF (Im Special de Muze x Viva Voltaire), owned by Old Bull Farms, score of 85.
Top 2016 Filly: Qumona BC (Cumano x Forrest xx), owned by Blue Chip Bloodstock, score of 87.
Top Yearling Futurity: Porsche (Peterbile x Landwein), owned by Richard Neal, score of 85.
Top Two 2 Year Old Futurity: Obi Wan BC (Domino x Thunder vd Zuuthoeve), owned by Blue Chip Blood- stock and Okavanga (Diktator vd Boslanhoeve), owned by Amanda Smith. Both earned a score of 81.
Top Mare 3-6 Year Old: Nika (Connor x Lancetto), owned by Lauren Peterson, score of 84.
Top Mare 7+ Years Old: Java vd Kleinheide (Thunder vd Zuuthoeve x Clinton), owned by Bannockburn Farm, earning 83 E-Label.
Stallion News – Big Star We are proud to announce an exciting addition to our approved stallion line up—none other than the 2016 Olym- pic gold medalist in showjumping, Big Star (Quick Star x
Nimmerdor). His partner, fifty-eight-year-old Nick Skelton was at his seventh Olympic Games, making his debut in 1988. (He has missed only one Olympics, Sydney in 2000, after he broke his neck.) Nick and Big Star were on the team that clinched gold in London 2012, placing fifth individually. In Rio, it came down to the wire with six horses jumping double clears, forcing the jump-off for medals. Their perfor- mance earned them the gold. The veteran jumper has been quoted as saying, “Big Star is the best horse I am ever likely to have.” His frozen semen is available from Spy Coast Farm.
Stallion Services Auction Thanks to the generosity of our stallion owners, every year we offer a terrific choice of BWP/NAD-approved stallions for bidding.
